What are you confused about?
Here’s a good article to brush up on some general knowledge of the company behind the building:
WWL explains Kailais construction

Your ridiculous statement

Well to start, The City of New Orleans didn’t hand pick the contractor(s) for the project.

Perhaps the blame should go to the institutions that educated the builders, designers, engineers, construction formen, etc... what college educated these people ?
If our educational institutions are responsible, isn't that an indictment of our entire American society?
I'm not going to listen to you badmouth the United States Of America!

Nothing in your link (which isn’t news to anyone paying attention) supports your comment

Who did?
And why are you defending the city’s approach and response to this disastrous problem in the middle of downtown?

Oh lord you’re clueless
Maybe you should take your own advice and brush up on the dynamics of how private development works

I’m not but that’s just your straw man since you were called out on your ignorance. The city is incompetent but they didn’t hand pick the contractors for this project. We can be critical and at the same time honest
Try it

I’d love to. Provide me a link?

You don’t think there’s a chance the city ever influences choices on commercial construction?

There is always potential for corruption in development/construction but that fact is a far cry from claiming the City hand selected the contractors.
To add insult to injury the principal of the GC and a major subcontractor are partners in the development llc

I don’t see a single line in that article that states the city had no influence over the choice of contractor.

You want me to provide a link to disprove a negative in your constantly changing goalposts?

In New Orleans it’s not potential. It’s certainty.

I’m aware. It’s in the first article I posted

Does that really seem hard to you? I don’t think it’s too much to ask if you’re as smart as you say you are.

You made the claim that the City hand picked the contractors on a private development project. Then have been unable to backup that claim.
Like I said earlier you can be critical of the city while also being honest with the facts (if you even understand them).

I don’t have published proof that the city is corrupt in this instance . You’re correct. But it’s a safe bet. And it was a major platform Latoya ran her campaign on. Directly influencing more minority owned companies involved in city projects.

This city is an overrun corrupt shithole led by a completely clueless politician and it is slowly but surely going to get much worse before it gets any better.
New Orleans could be a great thriving city but it insists on poisoning itself and killing itself instead of getting out of its own way and it’s just sad and pathetic to watch.

On these points at least, we are in 100% agreement
