Harsh? Nah. Pretty fair given this is federal court and he was committing securities fraud.

I didn't say he was innocent. I said the punishment is harsh considering.

And it help fund R&E on other drugs. One that is very close to being approved that will actually save more lives. Also, Shkreli made sure that anyone that didn't have insurance and/or couldn't afford the drug got it.

The people who were pissed at Shkreli fell into the national faux outrage and neither listened to what he said nor looked into the issue with any depth. He really isn't that bad at all.

Maybe so. He got less than half of the maximum sentence though.

I heard he’s doing fine in jail, the prisoners actually like him because they feel like he told the government to take a hike.

Similar to Bernie Madoff. Madoff is propulsion in jail for being such a good scammer and stealing so much from rich folks.

Come on, you are smarter than this. You don't raise the price on something like that so drastically to fund R&D, you do it strictly for profits.

I didn't say he didn't do it for profits, but unlike other companies that drastically raise drug prices (Valeant Pharmaceuticals for example) he at least did put some of the money from profits towards R&D and as a result they have a drug that is on the verge of saving a ton of lives.

You don’t have a right to someone’s product at a price you think is ‘fair’.
