Motiva is actually in the works of being its own stand alone apart from Shell & SA
Can you provide a link that explicitly states that is happening?

Got an instrument buddy
As in instrumentation within a plant? If he's an E & I tech he should have little issue finding a job at one of the many plants up and down the river.

I haven't been yet. I have to travel there soon to add pages to my passport.

Exactly what I was thinking as well. Especially with 19 years experience.

The Iran deal was about oil. It isn't isn't about keeping nuclear missiles from Iran or about preventing war. It's about opening Iranian oil to the rest of the world.
The environmentalists who were major in electing our president are working to drive oil down to end fracking in the U.S. That way the U.S. oil production will slow to a crawl and the Middle East will be back in control of the market.
It isn't about religion or keeping peace

So I've seen Shell, ConocoPhillips, and a few others mention layoffs but not Exxon. What's the word over there?
Chevron cutting too. We are in the midst of cuts as I speak.

I work in One Shell Square. I don't know how badly New Orleans will be affected by these layoffs, but if it happens, I hope it happens before our lease comes up for renewal in 2017. Having a third of the building empty out will give us some leverage.

I might get hurt in this downturn but cheap energy is good for humanity and even America in general.
I just wish it were more stable. I'd gladly trade some ups and downs for consistency.

I find it hilarious that oil is the only product that has incredible demand around the world but people EXPECT to not just stay at the same price but go down. Can anyone think of another product like that?

No, I just know guys from Convent that have been transferred to HOU to be on the team to make it happen

I've heard they will be selling their shallow water assets in the GOM which would put the Lafayette White House office in that boat.

They already announced the Lafayette office is closing

This is 100% a true statement about Motiva. They will not release a statement until it is official.

Shell to ax thousands of Jobs by Dire Wolf
Such bullshite. O&G have been turning record profits basically every quarter for over a decade, yet they can't afford to keep their workers on payroll?
Sucks for those workers, and they should be livid at Shell.

If they are turning record profits with out those employees, those employees are nonessential and essentially a waste of money.

I think 2016 is when they said they expect to be completely out of there. They're gonna move some to Covington and some to ERTC but there's not enough room for everyone.
