Not any more.

Back in the day when it was a poorly lit two lane Y, it was a pretty common occurrence.

Must have been before they 5 landed Tiger Bend to Jones Creek.

Also, I'm so glad that the split at Jefferson and Tiger Bend is history

Looks like it is just being redone, I noticed they have formed up the new split yesterday

The closing of the old Woman's Hospital will create more decay to creep down Airline so I guess Salsbury sees a move in their future.
I'm sorry, but this is pure, misinformed, white flight bullshite.

Do you not realize that the old Woman's Hospital is currently occupied by the city police? They recently renovated the physicians office building and will be tearing down the old bed tower in the future.

It's still a run-down eye sore. Salsbury knows there is way more cash around the New Woman's than old.

No, it's not bullshite. You are the idiot. I've lived here for 43 years. I and many others on here know what Airline Hwy. and Florida Blvd USED to look like.

I saw in the paper recently that Salsbury Dodge bought land at corner of Airline and Barringer Foreman. Must be on the same side as Kleinpeter.

Grocery store going up on the southeast corner. Car dealership on northwest corner. A guy really really wants to sell northeast corner. It was supposed to be Brian Harris but deal fell through.

Tore it down to rebuild a newer bigger gas station. Supposed to tie in with that side street that runs behind it now.

This. I was told it is a teardown/rebuild.

I agree the Florida blvd airline hwy area use to be happening in the 1980's.
Now this area is slowly going down the tubes.
The blight line is slowly moving across Florida blvd toward Old Hammond Hwy.
Now a lot of the car dealers are following the money and that is why we see more growth toward Highland and Airline Hwy.
There are a lot of people that live in surrounding areas that think NBR is north of I-12.
NBR use to be North of Choctaw in the 1960's, 1970's, and 1980's.

Sherwood and Coursey intersection looks to be deteriorating at a rapid pace. Stumberg looks rough too these days.

This is correct. It was a Circle K to begin with but they just bought the five acres around it to build their new prototype store. They have several new ones just opening now. Staring Highland, Government and Foster are a couple.

Still not a Buccees.

Shell station at Airline and Highland quote: Unless they start pulling tanks out of the ground, I would imagine another gas station will be going back there. This. Because pulling those tanks is a process. EPA/DEQ get involved.

Tanks are coming up and new tanks are being installed. Existing are 30 years old and they won't complete rebuild without replacing them. DEQ is involved in most but this is standard practice. Anyone building gas stations knows how this works.

Rouses plans are out, construction tentatively to start August.
