It's great product. I know several white women/non black women that use their products.
SO why is it not OK for them to have an add campaign designed to reach out to white women, or to include white women in an add for black women also?

He's the worst kind of racist. He's as white as plain copy paper, talking about understanding racism from the black perspective, that he knows this and that, "I know black people."
It makes him a phony.

the real crazy part of this is this is a textbook example of real intentions of certain groups. the people who are legitimately upset at this ad are displaying their preference that their group not be treated equal to others and that it should be treated differently/separately
Bingo!
In this day and age marketing (or even talking about in any way) towards blacks is a lose lose situation.
1. You don't include them, then they bitch because they aren't included, black lives matter, cater to white people, etc.
2. You DO include them, then you are bound to piss them off somehow by unintentionally pushing some stereotype or whatnot.
It's getting to the point where only black businesses/people can cater to blacks without them getting upset.

I think we could solve all of this if they would just make a pumpkin spice Sprite remix.

Good hair is a self hate term and I beg black folks to stop using it. Hair isn't better becauSe it's straighter. It's slave / plantation lingo we need to drop

When did all black/mixed people become so fragile? In movies, black men/women are always portrayed as strong and proud. In real life, not so much. Your posts are a true example of what I'm talking about.

This basically nails it except I don't think the people upset by this ad actually have a legitimate complaint.

It implies straight hair is good, and curly, coarse hair is bad.

Try terrorizing and discriminating people for of 200+ years
I think it's actually the opposite. For everything they have endure as a group of people...it's remarkable for them to keep prospering.

GTFOOH. Your Nubian queen doesn't seem to mind straight or blonde at all. Carry your outrage to another thread. You're bombing in this one.

That's doesn't exclude her from then convo. You think she would be as appealing and renown if she rocked her natural hair? Half of y'all would be saying she's ugly.
Immnot bombinf on this -- you are showing you know nothing of or about black
Women and their self perception and skin/hair care.
If Beyoncé didn't rock weaves all
The time she'd be Nina Simone

Straight hair is way better. Form and function. The blacks have been jealous of the whites straight hair for millennia

Black women must love looking like white women. deal with it.
Posted on 4/25/17 at 12:58 pm to The Mick
It's possible. Society suggests blonde hair and blue eyes are the "superior" traits and they couldn't be more wrong. It's not any better or any worse than any other combination

Holy Hell then we need to get safe places for Jewish people, Native American Indians, Sikhs in India, Mongolia, Armenians and even Christians in Muslim dominated countries. The list can go on and on.....but I don't see these minorities bitching, whining and complaining about faux outrages or using it as an excuse every time I turn around.
