If it's not Murphy Paul, I'll be shocked. I don't have a favorite, but we do not need someone leading BRPD who has been deeply ingrained in that LSP bullshite. SWB doesn't care, though. All signs have pointed to this being a show with MP being the pick from the start.

I'm not surprised that the candidates are all African Americans. Baton Rouge is a changing city and once years ago when a white majority only white candidates for the position were considered.
With this statement made I also say that she and the majority of the city who voted for her should not be surprised when whites move out of the city limits in droves and the tax base goes into the gutter. It is a consistent theme throughout the delta from Saint Louis to New Orleans, with the same effect.

And some wonder why so many desire a city of St George, even though I hate that name.
The pitiful thing is that a black police chief will not be able to change anything. Black on black crime, drugs, and the murder rate will continue at something similar to current rates regardless of who is in charge because the inner city community will not expose the criminals when the LEOs ask "what did you see?" It doesn't matter how much $$ SWB pushes into inner city programs. IT WON"T CHANGE. The only hope for those programs is to get a few more kids every year out of the projects through mentoring programs. But we already throw lots of money at many of those programs that don't produce many results and line the pockets of enterprising black activists.

It's difficult to see a path where BR doesn't eventually turn into Jackson. It's not there yet but I think it will in my lifetime. At some point I'll probably take my family out of state or move to LP or AP if St George doesn't happen.

How long has this dumbass going to take to appoint a police cheif to a city that needs policing in a bad way? Hiring a new police cheif is what she wanted to do coming into Office. It’s been what? A year since she’s been Mayor? Going 6 months without a police cheif is ridiculous. She’s incompetent. Period.

No police chief will be able to fix BR with SWB as mayor & judges like Trudy White.
SWB is looking for a padnuh not a Police Chief.
There are candidates that would give BR a chance to move in the right direction, however that’s not what SWB wants.
LeDuff wouldn’t have made it this far under Broome & he was a damn good Chief who cared about getting criminals off the street.

BR is in the beginnings of it's death spiral. Collapse is inevitable. The demographic shift will be completed shortly and that will intimately seal BR's fate. The people in control will think they can tax the producers until the producers have enough and leave.

I agree. My kids have 6 years of school left and my wife would prefer to let them finish because they've been there since pre-k. She promised me that after that all options are on the table.

Most of the leaders of the city-parish look at SBR as a piggy bank and also look at the government as their own slush fund. Chauna Banks tries to con the MC into giving money away to citizens at almost every meeting.
