A young man got killed by a lightning strike a couple of weeks ago while kayaking on the Blackwater River.

So, is the posted stat really overall "strikes" per year in water? How many are killed by this on average?

Think about the sheer number of people subjected to lightning on a 365-day basis vs. people who swim in the ocean on a 365-day basis.

ok, the chances of being struck by lightning and being attacked by a shark WHILE IN SALTWATER are roughly the same.
