He’s just upset that someone started a weather thread on the OT. We have a few like him that somehow gets triggered about weather discussions.

What were you expecting to get?
For several runs the models were showing ice/frozen precipitation for much of S.E. La.

Waiting to hear about the snow chances for East Texas. People freaking out already because of the Cotton Bowl.

Those were for late this week or weekend. And it was said over and over in that thread that it was very unlikely to happen.

This is what makes me laugh about Hurricane threads. Everyone secretly wanting to the Hurricane to hit BR but acting like they don’t want it to on the message board. Pure gold every season.

Media has blown up the weather into events

The weathermen/women are all over social media now saying whatever to get the clicks and views. A little thunder and rain last night and Rob Perillo is on Facebook telling us the sky is falling and to seek shelter immediately followed by 5 or 6 hashtags.

I tell you what, baw, the next time a major hurricane rolls through southern Louisiana us folks up here in north AL, TN, KY, etc. will call it a nothing burger. That would be factual, correct?

There is a reason meteorologists are right up there on the "least credible" list with lawyers, politicians and contractors.

A week ago they said my area could see snow, ice and temps in the mid-teens. My lowest low this week won't be under 26 and without a lick of wintery precip to be seen.

I’m having the same issue in Atlanta. Every single time it rains, the local media has breaking news about an afternoon 15 minute fricking rain shower

It’s a fricking rain shower, not an incoming tsunami

I agree that meteorologists, particularly those that are active in media, shouldn’t be sharing info about a potential event that is more than a week away because it’s likely to change before it gets here. That just creates confusion for people. I think so many of the TV guys are worried about getting info out ahead of their competitors.

A huge nothing burger in my area.

Well, in that case I'm glad you and your family didn't suffer from an extreme weather event causing physical damage to your home or even worse, loss of life.

My limited understanding of atmospheric physics is that at root it's a mesoscale thermodynamics problem, dependent upon a densely populated observation set in real-time for optimal accuracy.

Your thoughts?

In the meantime, I'll continue to rely upon those here contributing meaningful information during severe weather events.

RDS, Legend, Duke, RTR, Bobby, Slack and many others I'm sure to have missed. Their posts are invaluable, providing me with actionable intelligence, minus the hype which can be prevalent elsewhere.

I'm grateful for their time and input, and thankful when a "nothing burger" occurs in my area, yours and elsewhere.

What a completely moronic stupid take.

A professional makes prediction to be accurate, not to cover his arse in a worse-case scenario.

You don't go to the doctor for actinic keratosis only for him to tell you it could be melanoma stage 5 and to get your affairs in order. Then a week later when the tests come back he tell you its just AK but you should be thankful you aren't going to die.

In no other profession other than mets can someone make ridiculous predictions and still keep their jobs week after week year after year.

Your dumbass being condescending to anyone, after having proven how ignorant you are time and time again, is......certainly a choice. Pretty much par for the course for you, though.

Nice job avoiding the original topic though.
