Honestly, the parameters to support tornadic supercells are high, but there is a genuine uncertainty whether those cells will be linear or discrete in nature.
They've (New Orleans office) shifted the primary concern to straight line winds from a linear system.

My bad. UH = Updraft Helicity
In basic terms, this helps us to see where there might be storms with rotation in their updrafts. Doesn't mean that just because there is a streak/rotation, there will be a tornado. It is just another factor to look at when determining where there might be a tornado threat.

I'd go south then east. Storms should line up in a NNE/SSW orientation later today. Taking 49 and 10 would probably keep you dry the most.

It probably is for most of South of LA, but I'm sure there will be a couple of pockets where it's pretty bad. Not so sure this is being overhyped for MS/AL though.
