I used to run up and down the road (it's a small residential road) but quit last summer when I noticed the dogs.

go directly to the neighbors in question and tell them of my concern but risk sounding like a bitch
Too late. What a fricking pussy.

Former pit owner here. Got him as a puppy, well socialized, obedience training, everything. Still the best dog I've ever had. The only person he ever hurt was someone who was trying to steal my shite. The thing is, if you have any sense, you realize that having these dogs is not worth the risk of what they are capable of.
To the OP: Man up. Talk to your neighbor, short and sweet. Don't expect them to understand or appreciate your concerns. If you get anything other than complete understanding and acknowledgement, thank them politely, and walk away. After that, call animal control when you see them.

My yard, my family's safety, my rules.
IDGAF what breed it is, if your dog is making a habit of being in my yard, I'm killing it.
Aside from that, you're overreacting greatly.

How do you know they are pit bulls. Did you have them DNA tested?

If you talk to the owners or call the pound and something happens to the dogs then you will be blamed. So either do nothing at all, or tell nothing, but do something...

I would go over there, be polite, and voice your concerns about them roaming free. Hell some Pit Bulls are AKC registered and are very docile creatures. frick sakes my neighbors Lab is a grouchy old dog and will bite your arse if you go in his yard.

Wait, wasn’t there a third attack?
Do you know how to read. I swear people on this board makes me wonder about how many people actually have reading comprehension skills. I clearly stated in both post a third attack. Are ur panties really up in that big of a bunch you have to make shite up to make a point. You must be a woman also.

That's what I'm afraid of. Plus, going talk to the neighbors is impossible because the dogs are always hanging out on their front porch when they're not roaming the road.
I think I'm going to just call animal control next time I see them roaming. Do it quietly and discretely and hopefully never get blamed. The owners have been known to go out of their way to be assholes to some people across the street. I don't think I want any target on my back.

This isn't even a damn pitbull problem.
Nobody should be leaving their dogs out front unattended.
I leave two of my dogs out free all of the time, but I also have 6 acres...

They have a kid and two pitbulls.
What kind of people are able to produce a kid and pitbulls? That is a lady IWNHI.
Seriously though, do you have any ordinances that require the dogs to be fenced up or chained? Make an anonymous call that two pitbulls run free on that road.

Well..... I used to be a advocate for the breed. Used to think the same thing in till I raised one from a puppy.
My pit was raised in a extremely loving house, along with my three kids, golden retriever, shnauzer, me and the hubby. We had her for about 2 and a half years. My husband rescued her, even thou he hated pitbulls, just fell in love. She was a inside dog and all, spoiled rotten and wouldn't hurt a fly. I thought.
We had a fourth of July party and in the middle of it she latched on to my shnauzer, and no amount of kicking and punching it in the head would make her let go. Finally she did and luckly the dog survived.
Afterwards I was ready to bring her to the pound, but I was talked out of it by screaming kids, and the promises of how a lot of people were there and how they must have been fighting over food.
Well over the next three days it happened twice again to the same dog. The last time it was minutes before we was bringing her to the pound. Luckly poor baby survived both of those attacks also.
So yes, not only did I have a obligation to do it for my family (I don't ever think she would have hurt our family). But I do live in a neighborhood and most people have small dogs, and I had a obligation to protect them also.
That scared the living day lights out of me. So no, it don't matter how they were raised. The dog who attacked wasn't my sweetie, and that's the thing, once that switch turns, they isn't ur dog anymore. Matter of fact I'm convinced they don't realize what they are doing and can't stop it. I seen it with my own eyes. So please don't tell me otherwise. They literally come possessed, and I'm pretty scared of them now.
Have seen the same story for virtually every dog bite ever, regardless of breed.
