Watching a new show called Court TV. A guy killed 3 women and was attacked in court by one of their fathers.

Killer got sentenced to death.

I death for 3 lives taken doesn't seem fair. Why not torture these people first and then kill them? It just seems like more could be done. So unfair for someone could mutilate 3 women and live a long life on death row.

If it’s 100% confirmed I’m all about pulling them apart with a pair of pliers until they die starting with the balls. I’m talking about serial killer or terrible deaths.

I’m going to guess it has something to do with that pesky 8th Amendment.

Is this different than the channel that's been around for years?

This is going to be tough for many to grasp, but someone with the mind of a serial killer most likely wouldn't bat an eye at being tortured. Some would probably even get off on it.

Torture just makes people too uncomfortable.

Maybe let the victims next of kin do the punishment?

That would probably be best for everyone involved.

I'll humor you. The reason to abstain from administering cruel and unusual punishment even upon cruel and unusually evil criminals is evil activity tends to encourage more evil activity. You like evil? Find ways to creative ways to legitimize and integrate barbaric practices into your system.

I agree in principle, but revenge doesn’t bring your loved ones back. We need to go back to public hangings. Every town should have a big oak tree in the town square. Once the criminal is found guilty and goes through a quick appeal process, hang them... on a Sunday afternoon. In front of everyone, including children. It’s a good deterrent.

Why only Oak trees? What are you some kind Treeist? Maples are trees too ya know. And then there's Sycamores, Willows, Pines, ... Treeism is unacceptable!

Maple trees matter!

If someone murders your(or anyones) child or any loved one and you know they're guilty, how can any punishment be "cruel and unusual? "

I always thought they should dig a tunnel several hundred yards into side of a mountain and install rings in the walls. When someone does what that guy did, they could just take them into the tunnel and chain them securely to the rings. Then maybe twelve months later, come back for the body.

To me, that might be a deterrent to crime for those who think about what might happen. For those who do not think, they would still be removed from the gene pool. One way or another, we would be rid of them.

Oh, they might need to put a good gate on the tunnel to keep the bleeding hearts out.

And, if they took five or six in at the same time, they would have each other as a support group.
