Considering every nose is host to staphylococcus bacteria, it's just a matter of time till a serious infection sets into those piercings. Then comes the hideous disfigurements and even brain infections (might be a positive for some of those looney tunes narcissists though).
Saw several septum and other nasal piercing patients during my days working ER. Most ended up needing reconstructive surgery just to breathe normally.

Only redeeming part of the septum ring is that a few months (years) down the road, when the idiot realizes they look idiotic, they can remove it, and there are no visible scars.
