Has anyone heard that the LA state pharmacy board is banning semaglutide ?

One of the medi spa places down here that a lot of people use, posted a message this morning that they are no longer able to get it from their pharmacy, because the state is telling compounding pharmacies that they can no longer sell it or import it into the state.

I can’t seem to find any news about this, but the O-T has plenty of sources.

I bet that stuff will be found to contribute to bowel disease in the future. It slows down gut motility.

I don't know about the ban, but I've been researching alternatives to paying $1400 a month for Wegovy although I did get a prescription from my doctor that I haven't filled (I got fluffier after I moved to Houston and had to try out all the amazing restaurants and pubs and AYCE crawfish cook-offs, and now I need a little extra help to get back to fighting weight). I've discovered a ton of ways to get it without breaking the bank. Reddit r/peptides has a ton of great info. I'm going to order the "research chemical" probably from US Chem Labs and some bacteriostatic water and make it myself. It costs around $15/mg doing it this way. Starting dose is .25mg. I'd way rather pay $15 for a month's supply than pay $1400 for a month's supply from the pharmacist.

How about laying off the junk food? A little self discipline would help you more than shoving a needle in your arse.

I'm guessing that they are banning the medspa approach which is using compounding pharmacies who are sourcing semaglutide from labs and making their own instead of ordering the trademarked $$$$ Wegovy from Novo Nordisk. The medspas around Houston are offering it for $100/shot (which is still expensive compared to DIY) but way less than Wegovy. So LA officials are just trying to protect a pharmaceutical company's profits by banning the compounded versions of it.

Actually they can't. Insurance doesn't have to pay for it, but there is no law against using a prescription medication for non-FDA approved indications. Patients could sue for any complications, I guess.

A doctor that prescribes it told me yesterday that they were trying to ban it in Louisiana and a ban could happen any day now.

Nestle doesn’t need anything interfering with your ability to shovel limitless processed carbs down your gullet.

Rude... I don't eat junk food. Ever. Or soda, chips, candy... I hit the age where it takes a ton of effort for a tiny result and I don't wanna give up beer, sushi or crawfish. I have an extremely sedentary job and it's too cold to swim in my pool yet. Don't feel safe going to gyms or parks by myself. I need to have my insulin sensitivity reset because I have a very efficient metabolism (my body grabs on to every last calorie and saves it just in case I get stranded in the woods for a week with no provisions.) We can't all be online stuck to our phones all the time and still at HS weight 28 years later. Today I ate 250 calories total so far. 1/3 of a can of black beans with a tbsp of sour cream and a splash of cholula for breakfast. It's after 5pm. I'm not losing any meaningful weight on calorie restriction alone. Anyway, I don't need to justify my reasons for wanting to take semaglutide to anyone except my doctor.

Take breaks during work and walk around the parking lot or something

Where do you live where you feel it is unsafe to go to the gym?

We can thank the Louisiana state pharmaceutical lobbyists. Money in their pockets for helping to get this passed if it's true.
