If you really want to boost value forge signatures on all of the good ones.

I started getting back into cards with Skenes and Crews hitting the majors and found that the hobby is more screwed now than ever, so good luck.
I started dipping my toes back into it when I realized that brick and mortar shops had made a comeback. The reality was a bit of a disappointment. They haven’t made but a handful of interesting sets since I stopped paying attention 25 years ago. It’s unbelievable that they’re still pumping out those patch cards left and right. A million stupid 1/1 cards. Topps reduced to selling unlicensed cards smh.

If someone hasn’t mentioned it yet, watch Jack of All Trades on Netflix. It’s a great documentary on the rise and fall of baseball cards.

Thanks for including this. Watching it now.

Paul consecutively walked 4 batters to lose the game??? I thought he was the goat in the making?
You didn’t mention that aspect in your original post.

He did not walk four consecutive batters in 2025.

He did throw a complete game three hitter and lost 1-0.

Last year, I sold all my cards with Heritage Auctions in Dallas. They were willing to negotiate their Seller’s Premium down extensively.

They went through the cards in a meticulous, detail-oriented manner. They sent many cards off for grading, if it were likely to benefit the sale. Since they send so many cards for grading, they get a much better rate than an individual collector would.

Payments to me came steadily, soon after each auction. They communicated well. Overall, I was quite pleased with the outcome.

If you live in BTR area, I would be interested in buying some of those older cards.

I don’t know how much work yall want to do but the most profitable way would be to evaluate on an individual card basis (pick your top 5 players) and see if any are in really really good condition.

If so you should check the raw value versus the pSA10/9/8 values.

Some of your mays mantle stuff might be worth quite a bit after grading.

Getting rid of them is really going to be driven by how much work you want to put in.

I appreciate it, but we don’t want to break up the collection.

I basically did this for every card we have. I priced each one individually based on eBay histories of all comps sold.

No worries. That’s pretty cool though that you guys have those cards. I would try to grade them, at least the stars. Hopefully, you guys get a lot out of them.

You laugh . . . When I was in the 3rd grade as a class project we were connected with other 3rd graders in MI, I think, for a pen pal project. I remember my "pen pal" liking baseball cards so I sent him a couple cards of his favorite player expecting him to return the favor. Yeah that fricker never sent any back!

We don’t have a set amount we’re asking for at this point, but we do have an overall value in mind. I’d like to have any potential buyer tell me what they think the value is first, then what they would be willing to pay. If we’re way off on what the value is, there’s probably no shot at a deal being made. Remember, the pics I posted are just a small sample of some of the better ones.
