Also, try to yawn if you feel one coming on. I found a solid yawn to be euphoric during long duration anxiety symptoms.

OP, you can also try “Box Breathing” to ramp your body down if it starts to “take off”.

I now suffer from anxiety and panic attacks. I’ve had two attacks that sent me to the ER, because I thought I was having a heart attack or stroke.
The first panic attack I had I was lucky my coworkers were idiots. I fell over grasping my chest in the office and just nobody noticed. It would have been an expensive ambulance ride.
I can only speak from experience, but there was a time in my middle/late college years where I was averaging about 3 a week, and now I'm down to once every other month or so. It gets better.

But was there something in the movie that got you worked up or were you just watching it?
You just have to watch it to understand it. It is a very intense documentary (with amazing reenactments that you think are real).
It is actually a great show.

You will live miserable life if you think self medicating is the answer to your problems in life. But hey go for it buddy.
Eh, that's a kind of naïve view on the situation. Doctors were trying to hand me Xanax among other things, and it's not like I've been to war or saw my parents die. Sometimes there's not really anything to talk out, it's just a personality trait, and as much as I'd like to say CBT solves everything it doesn't. I sometimes take some gummies to sleep.

Holy shite!!! I’ve had three in three years. One in Vegas, one at the beginning of Covid, and one a few weeks ago.
I’m talking panic attacks, not anxiety attacks. I am starting to recognize anxiety attacks now, and just simply calm myself down.
I can tell you now, you do not want to go to an ER in Vegas. They sent me to Sunrise hospital. It sounds like a great place. It’s an inter-city hospital, with druggies trying to get a fix. Granted, I was treated like royalty, because I had insurance and money.
That was the most disgusting hospital I’ve ever seen.

I found writing out my thoughts worked wonders. You have to acknowledge the thought, write it, then see it. You can either choose to let someone read it, or just rip it up after.

What’s the difference between a panic attack and anxiety attack?
Posted on 3/12/22 at 8:29 pm to theantiquetiger
All kidding aside, go see a psychiatrist and get on an SSRI. Sounds like you have panic disorder, which is very easily treatable thanks to modern medicine. I don’t recommend any other treatment as this is by far the most effective.

Ashwagandha works well. My wife has these at times. Very scary. Put her on ashwagandha and they are gone. That supplement is worth it's weight in gold.

The correct serious answer is Xanax. When my shrink diagnosed me with panic/anxiety disorder about 7 years ago, he prescribed Xanax and said to take 0.5 MG if I felt a panic situation coming on. It works like a charm.
It takes about 15 minutes to kick in, but a calm comes over your body and you can get back to normal.
I used to have to take one every few days, but over time I've gotten to where I maybe have to take one a month, if that.
And knowing you have it handy can reduce anxiety also.

The funniest thing, I have a pretty high stressed job, and I am at my most relaxed state at work. It took me ten years on how to control my nerves work when the situation gets bad. Co-workers ask me how I stay so calm during the most intense times. I tell them I cannot worry about what may happen. If it happens, just simply work from the next point.

Had a real nice panic attack in Dec for seemingly no reason. At best, a little trouble at work, coupled with getting my wife’s latest credit card statement. As far as I can recall, I was mellowed out by the time in happened, but thought I was having a heart attack when it kicked in.
Had some weird issues with fatigue and heartburn for the next few days. All vitals were tip top by the time I got to my PCP a few days later. Urgent care said maybe it was a sinus infection or something.
shite sucks. Do some yoga. Breathe. Look at the clear sky and be thankful.
