Where is a good place to park? What about the transit buses as an option? TIA

If you have a place to stay in the city, you can take the Canal streetcar to within a few blocks of the Fairgrounds. Just follow the crowds from there.

If I just decide to suck it up and walk before hand, City park.... But usually I ride down Esplanade and park in a neighborhood on the south side. Usually can get about half the distance.

I've paid eh $15 and parked at Our Lady Rosary Church as well

If you are staying downtown, I would pay for the bus service that they offer.

If not, City Park Ave or the playground area parking lots.

If you can get in before 1:00 or so, Cabrini on Esplanade does the pay to park thing. They have bathrooms and their mens club sells food and beer. It's really close.

We always park in the same neighborhood in front of the same house. It is about a 15 minute walk for us.

I went two years ago and parked at the First Baptist Church on Canal Blvd.

No affiliation with them before anyone asks and they didn't try to convert me for parking with them.

I think I paid $10 and their shuttle brings you as close as any city bus would get you. Hot as balls that year so the shuttle even had a cooler with free coke and water on the bus.

The new Deutsches Haus property on Bayou St John has $30 a day parking and is a short walk from the back door to the fairgrounds. It's not cheap, but it's not unreasonable--plus it's safe, side-swipe free (unlike parking on a street that drunks will be driving down), and should be easy to get quickly out of.

Do you need a parking place for Jazzfest? Do you want to help out the Deutsches Haus?

Please consider parking on our future Deutsches Haus site - 1700 Moss Street - Right off Esplanade Avenue...just a short walk to Jazzfest.

Parking hours- 9am to 8pm
$30 per car / truck
No Trailers, RV's or Large trucks
No in and out
No member discounts
*This is a fundraiser to help build a new Haus.

According to the Jazz Fest thread that I saw that in its about that much to park at other places nearby--some further away. It's probably something I'll just keep in my back pocket if no other options are reasonable.

Cabrini HS, no question. Not only does the money go to the men's club but they're on site all the time so no problems with anyone messing with your car.

Beware of the guy selling spots on an empty lot. I've seen an entire lot towed because the person selling spots didn't own the lot and just took the money and ran.
