Seeing several reports on Facebook (one from his wife) that Ben Jones (Cooter) has died. Apparently had a massive heart attack.

Not a bad way to go TBH. Here one second, gone the next.

I met him once and bought a General Lee model that he signed. Really good dude, sad that he passed.

RIP Cooter. I bet Boss Hogg and Roscoe are waiting for him at the gates to ask about the Duke boys.

I just saw Tom Wopat posted it. That's probably about as good a source as any. RIP Cooter.

Damn shame. Cooter and myself were Mopar bro’s in the closest way. I had a twin to his RoadRunner on the show. Only difference is he had a 413 wedge in his and I ran a 340 in mine.
Of course Daisy went and wrecked it…..
Damn women.

Fun fact: Sorrell Booke was a Jewish physician's son from Buffalo, NY. He had degrees from Columbia and Yale and was an Army counterintelligence officer during the Korean War.
