A man I admired for his humility and his dedication to the job. Had a difficult time forgiving himself for what happened in Dallas (even though he was ordered to stand down by the president).

No way he could have prevented the shot from JFK's driver hitting the mark.

Hmmmm......suspicious timing. A perfectly healthy 93 year old just keeled over all of a sudden like? Right when the "declassified" files may or may not be released by the new committee who is currently scrubbi....err......reviewing them? 93 year olds don't just die......

I thought for sure you were going to bring up the clot shot.

I takes a special kind of bravery to jump onto a car which is receiving gunfire and then place your body between the targets and incoming fire. There is no way he knew that the shooting was over.
That man was a credit to the US Secret Service.
And he could not have stopped the incoming bullets. Only JFK and the shooter could have stopped those bullets. JFK by using the hard cover as suggested and the shooter by not being a murderer.

His books are very well written regarding Jackie Kennedy. He doesn’t give up any embarrassing information, but there is a lot to learn from them about her and that time period and her life afterwards. Clint Hill was a class act. RIP.

Over the years he has recounted in graphic detail JFK’s injuries, and the fact that Jackie had brain splatter on her.

And that she leaped on the trunk to retrieve a portion of her husband’s skull.

He always came across as a very likable, kind man. He carried that day the rest of his life and never got over it.
