re: Secondary ticket resellers are absolutely ridiculous

Like someone earlier mentioned, go to the stadium and hold up your fingers with amount of tickets you want. I have done this numerous times, even at “big” games and there are always lots of options. If you’re patient you may pay less than face value. I have also been there with an extra ticket and gave it away because the tickets were given to me.

You could pay 100$ for 2 probably before the game, maybe free if you wait long enough. Just walk up and down north stadium dr and look for a LSU fan holding up tickets or put 2 fingers in air.

I am this way as well. Bought from live scalpers most of my life. I still believe the NCAA had a crew on their payroll. No matter the Event, same 6 black dudes always had the best seats that never "existed" and had to come direct from the NCAA.
Years of buying from them and never had a problem. Even had way better seats than the Governor of a participating school. He sat about 12 rows behind me at a Championship game. Had better seats than celebrities as well.

I don't remember exact numbers but selling Saints tix in 17/18 versus today is drastically different. I'll probably ditch them soon because I don't have time to attend every game anymore but it's harder and harder to break even selling online with those fees.
Everything about the costs of having season tickets and/or attending in person has just gotten completely out of hand.

Because they make finding g tickets easier than in the past. Plus prices drop below face value for many events as the start time nears.

How do people justify using these places?
It won't change until people stop using them. They're apparently having no problems selling the tickets, so why should they change?

face value for sec games are higher than they used to be and tier pricing makes it even higher for certain games

$200 including fees for a good lower level seat for a big sec game isn't that out of line tbh
More expensive than Saints tickets

Hard tickets dont mean anything anymore. I bought 2 tix to a random LSU vs Ole Miss bball game a few years back from the Ticket Exchange on this site. $40. The dude sold hard tickets that were void bc he had transferred them electronically to someone else (even met him at walk ons right by campus). Figured ole baw needed the $40 much more than I did and chalked it up as a learning experience. LSU did comp us with seats a couple rows up from the voided seats, so wasnt a total loss, but they def didnt have to do that.
ETA: SilverStallion, if youre still reading this board, hope you enjoyed that $40 big stink

I was about to say, do hard tickets even exist anymore? I know the Saints have gone all electronic and you have to use the app or download them to your Apple wallet.
Part of me does kind of miss the days of going up to campus and holding your finger up. It almost was kind of a game.
I’m guessing seat geek, stub hub, etc. have all but put the old style ticket brokers you would see on campus out of business.
I do miss hard tickets. It was a great souvenir to hold onto.

ahh, those were the days. As a kid we used to patrol the stadium for cheap seats before the game. No way i am risking giving some random person hundreds of dollars for hard tix outside the stadium now a days considering they could very easily be just a piece of cardboard

Why don't you just go on the ticket exchange board here? You will likely be able to find some for less than $130 a piece (without the secondary markup). I think face value is $75 or $85

Moving to electronic tickets ruined the secondary market.
Gone are the good old days of buying at the stadium.
F-ing sucks

So stop buying them. Unfortunately I've basically stopped going to live events because shite is way too expensive. Because dumbasses keep spending the money, it just keeps climbing. I get frustrated a lot that I have to share the same economy with idiots.
