Side to side in the opposite lane, meaning they were probably at least partially in his lane. They have just as much responsibility, if not more, to avoid contact than he does. If she was walking forward in his lane, wouldn’t that be battery perpetrated by her too? It obviously shouldn’t be battery at all.

Ultimately you have to make the decision to run somewhere you won’t be inconvenienced by this. Plenty of places along the levee to run alone if you can’t handle avoiding others

Can the next phase of this thread be us bitching about people with dogs who go at you when you run? I’ve been bitten/chased a couple times by idiot dog owners dogs. Might have been speciesism motivated attack.

The doctor sounds like an a-hole.
The story of the "racial slur" is likely not true, but I suspect he's one of those jerks that thinks the sidewalk is there for him and him only.

I remember hearing about or seeing aggressive runners and clueless walkers/slow joggers walking or shifting in the way of people passing them or coming from opposite way on side of walkway, but i don’t remember police being called.Though apologies from both sides along with a “are you ok” probably done if more than brush by or bump.
Not saying the guy isn’t being a jerk running, but I also can see elbows raised & shoulders rotated as a way to split people walking together taking up entire walkway while keeping hands up to not accidentally slap asses or side boob That kind of movement before a collision isn’t necessarily showing intent to commit battery with elbow & shoulder or added aggression more than his running style already seems to show.
