I moved to Seattle three years ago from Baton Rouge, I love it here. Summers are amazing, winters are mild, the beer scene is great. Legal weed, strong economy, not being surrounded by a bunch of morons all the time... no complaints. The head tax is pretty stupid and should be repealed, but I'm making way more money here and living much more comfortably than I could in Louisiana.

San Antonio and Miami surprised me a bit as someone who looks at lists like this all of the time

Sad that LA doesn't have more opportunity

And it ain't slowing down anytime soon with the recent expansion to the largest number of homeless shelters per capita as well as plans to give the homeless money every month.

Do you live in Seattle proper or somewhere in the metro? I also love it here but I'm not a big fan of Seattle itself.

I'm in Greenwood, north central Seattle. I definitely don't think I'd love living in the downtown/Belltown/Capitol Hill area, but north Seattle from Ballard to Ravenna is actually really nice - pretty residential, lots to do. Where do you live? EDIT: I see you're in Tacoma. I was just there Monday at a Rainiers game but haven't spent too much time there.

University Place in the South Sound.

UP is basically just part of Tacoma.

Where is Columbus Ohio on that list? Can’t be far off. Columbus just had its biggest population gain over a year adding 15,429 residents. The 2010 census had Columbus at 787,000 and the newest census estimates have Columbus at 880,000 residents continuing its population boom.

Columbus is definitely growing fast. One trip there and it's easy to see why. Short North is one of my favorite places in the country.

Interesting the city itself is growing fast, but not the suburbs. That’s what makes Seattle the fastest growing city.

Strong zoning forces development into urban areas. Limits sprawl, drives up home prices, but protects our high quality of life.

No doubt.... Collin County is on track to exceed Dallas County in the next 10-13years and could see 1.7-1.9 million residents.

My wife grew up and MIL still lives in Tacoma. Right where it turns into Ruston.

Pierce is already growing at a faster rate (%) than King county. I wouldn’t be shocked if gross population growth in Tacoma outpaced Seattle in a few years...they’ve done a great job of capitalizing on every stupid decision made by the city of Seattle and the city council (which is basically a monthly thing at this point).
