is one of the major reasons why Blockbuster, K-Mart, Sears, Montgomery Ward, Toys 'R Us, Mervyn's, The Limited and others have gone from once prominent in their industry to now closed.

and why MTV doesn't play music videos and the history channel is almost exclusively reality TV not related to history

The kmart in my town closed at the end of 2017. I hadn't been in there in years. Never had what I needed, so I went on past it to other stores.

Their merchandise is generally lesser quality than Wal-Mart, their stocking and organization sucks, and they feel like they’re stuck in a time warp back to the late 80s because they can’t or won’t spend any money to update their stores.

All of that pales in comparsion to their employees.

Last one I was in, in Metairie, Sat afternoon, 1 register open, 11 people in line, cashier talking on her cell phone while ringing up customers.

When sears and kmark merged one person described it as two garbage trucks colliding on the highway I never traded it.

There use to be a sears in my town when I was a kid.. I am talking about back in the 80s. Didn't they franchise at one point? For some reason I think it was a franchise location, but my dad use to buy all of his tools and appliances at Sears, but I haven't been in one in a very long time, I can't even remember the last time I have gone into Sears.

And Kmart, the only one I remember in Baton Rouge was on College Dr.. Where Hobby Lobby is.. I think there is one in Gonzales right? Unless it has closed down in the past several years.. But evolve or die... And Sears hasn't evolved.

Last time I went to the one at Clearview mall, there was only like four people working the entire bottom floor. They were all at registers

This entire statement sent chills down my spine. It's amazing how much things are changing, in such a short time. We've really jumped the shark with technology...and I don't see how it will end. Probably not well

Gonzales location is closed.

I was in Guam a month ago and there is a KMart there that is billed as the busiest Kmart in the world. It's open 24 hours and is constantly packed, I think I it's the only relatively cheap store on the island.

We checked it out for the novelty, it was like stepping back in time to the 90s.

I always enjoyed the feeling of walking into Kmart or Sears. I like the 80s time warp. Can’t get that in a new store.

Man remember the kkkkkmart bluelight special.
Attention K Mart shoppers there is a special on xyz for .99 cents for 10 minutes locates in the back.
Then they had a cart with bluelight on it flashing.
Those were the days.

K-tel records, 8-tracks, and cassettes.

They had a darker room in the back so you could look at black and white tv’s or color TVs to choose which one you wanted.

Softgood side always sucked.

Both of the ones near me are closing (Lewisville and Denton TX).

The Lewisville mall was already in trouble and this doesn't help things. The Denton one too.
