I’ve been a certified diver for over 12 years now. I have an old dive watch I’ve had for years. I have been looking at some of the dive computers or looking at getting a new watch. I see the computer takes a lot of the calculating out of your hands and gives a lot of data which is really cool!

What would y’all recommend or what are y’all using?

I had no idea this was a thing. But sounds cool.

Watches are cooler than computers but computers are more practical.

I've got the Suunto Zoop Novo, inline with computer and standard pressure gauge. I prefer one that ties into your air supply vs. a watch.

I love watches and particularly dive watches, I have a couple.

I wear a mechanical dive watch as a backup to a backup but have a Garmin Descent I absolutely love. My wife has a Suunto Zoop she likes also and it is quite a bit cheaper.

If you get a computer it is unlikely you will ever go back.

I just got the Apple Watch Ultra. May want to check it out along with the Oceanic+ app.

The dive functionality was a huge selling point when I got my Apple Watch Ultra. Haven’t taken it on a dive yet though, so I can’t attest to how well it performs in that role.

You should have a dive computer integrated with your regulator. That is a must. A lot of people also use a watch computer as well. Many also include a feature that allows the watch computer to synch up with your reg so that you get your psi in addition to your depth and bottom time info. Garmin makes a good one. About $1,800 though.

Yep, I don’t think there’s any going back. I have an old oceanic with the air transponder and it still works great even though it’s not the latest tech. Might be time to upgrade because it was getting a little wonky on me when I did a missed silo dive a couple weeks ago.

This looks like a great outdoor/dive use. I see it doesn’t integrate with the pressure gauge though. What I have read and liked about the computers is telling me how long follow up dives can be and how long you need before flights and etc. Do you have any insight/info on that?

I have a Cressi Leonardo dive computer watch. I always wear it scuba diving. It's pretty handy.

Shearwater is probably the top company in the industry. They only make dive computers. Based out of Canada.

Their computers and their customer service is outstanding. They have products starting about $500 without air integration up to about $1,500 with air integration.

I probably know 15+ people diving with terics, all with hundreds of dives. No real problems and the little issues that have come up have been taken care of quickly. No problems with air integration at all.

I'd recommend a Teric if it's in your budget or a Peregrine if your budget is less.

But if you're just looking for the cheapest option, any $200 puck will give you all the information you need.

Not to hijack the thread, but I'm looking to get my first watch, a gift for my birthday. What are your thoughts on the DSSD? Opinions between the 126660 and the 136660?

Check out reviews, Suunto is known for having very a very conservative algorithm. I know people have been locked out after basic rec dives.
