Usually will thrown down $10 or so in scratch offs if I go inside a gas station. Most I’ve ever won is $40. Finally hit a $500 the other day on a $5 game.

Had to cash it at H-E-B and got a wink.

What’s the most you’ve ever won on one? Any strategy for us amateurs?

The zen diagram for someone smart enough to pass the bar but dumb enough to play scratch off tickets would be interesting

Payback on scratch offs is about 50%.

Send me $10 a week and when the balance is $1000, I send you $500!

Oh hell, I'll make it $600

I got in a dumb habit of doing the same. Dropping $10 at the corner gas station when I would leave Bs on the way home to pick up something to drink. One time the person working was trying to tell me that the ones I got should be good because there was some sort of line at the bottom. They were fricking wrong.

I know a guy that hangs at the bar that won a million. Hes also won $2500 multiple times. This is the kind of guy that plays those "bingo" video game things or whatever they are at the gas station so he drops a ton of $$ in shite like that.

I read an article a couple years ago about these ivy league grads that figured out the math of how much you have to spend at a time to win a decent sum. The article claimed they won well over what they spent just about every time. Talked about getting the tickets when the stack was fresh and buying only the most expensive ones. Was convincing but I don't have the guts to plot down the change they were dropping.

Not a scratch off, but I had 5 of 6 numbers on the Louisiana Lotto last year day of the LSU Alabama game. Jackpot was $1.8m. And the number I missed was only off by one. Needed an 11 I had a 10 ended up getting only $667 fml

I won a jackpot on a slot.

Since I was 18 and used a fake ID to get in, I won an arrest and no money.

I know plenty of idiots who passed the bar. It’s not an IQ contest.

Is that card a $500 winner? If so I am both happy and sad I don't understand it.

My aunt won $10K in the early 90's on a $10 scratcher. She was the district manager of Shop Rite and was at one of her stores helping out. This older guy bought a scratch off and left, then came back and asked if he could trade it in for another $10 one because he didn't understand the instructions. My aunt just bought it from him and gave him $10.

She checked it that night and won $10K.
