Teachers have had off 3 of the last 5 weeks. I’d be willing to bet they don’t even know all of their students’ names.

There was a thread two weeks ago with teachers saying they need to extend Christmas break so teachers can have a prep day

Just curious ... if schools are closed, are they not allowed to have athletic events those days? Seeing lots of soccer and basketball games moved from tomorrow night to Saturday.

Days closed for weather should be used for teacher enrichment. Have them log in to zoom meetings and lectures during the regular school hours.

I had to do five hours of Vector training today. Watching the same videos with the same assessments for the seventh or eighth straight years. Why? Liability issues. But no, no one is suing school systems.

Canceled because “the walkways are icy”. Yeah, grab a fricking shovel and get to work on opening up your school. Lazy and incompetent, the lot.

You guys sound like teachers.

These betas were the same ones screeching that schools needed to be shut down during Covid and then had 5 year olds wearing masks for 2 years. Social media is filled with these types.

Your fatass would probably have a heart attack and die if you had to actually do that.

As with many of the problems in this state, get the lawyers to get in check and we could save millions. And I agree with most normal folks, the teachers aren’t making these decisions.
The normal baw tards understand about this as much as they understand the crawfish industry.

That is a real day in st Tammany. I was like damn, hey really took those last 2 weeks off.

But no, teachers have zero influence in these matters

No shite? It doesn’t mean they don’t influence them, like all employees of any place.

Tangi schools are closed tomorrow.

To be fair I went to the grocery store today and there is still a ton of ice on surface streets especially in shady spots and on bridges. It’s probably best.

I don’t even know what people are arguing about. I don’t really have any skin in the game either way because I WFH and my kids are pretty easy to deal with at home, even some cool interactions at times, but mostly I work and they do their thing.
However it is good that the wife is going into the office tomorrow. The less said about that the better.

I can see if schools being closed puts a strain on people and that pissing them off.

You can’t argue with these fools - crescent city connection is still closed, I10 and 12 has spots still close, I55 has spots still closed, rural areas still have roads closed - record snow and low temperatures and 1 extra day of school closed has cause people to losing their mind - it’s insane.

We go through this same shite here any time schools close. At this point I'm wondering if there is any reason to close schools that some people won't bitch about. Asteroid strike? Alien invasion? Nah......
