Amy word on BRCC? I have a crew working over there and it would suck for them to show up in the morning and not be able to get in.

It's just frustrating due to extremely short notice. We don't have help here being that most our family is far away. I'm always the one canceling my schedule and it's annoying. Two years ago I was canceling so many days of work bc of the "epic" ice storms... And two years later it's for tornados.

I know so many brilliant OT minds are enrolled here, so I'll just leave this here.

I wish all I had to worry about was a class or two. Those were the days.

So the idea is to close at noon so that people are driving home when the weather starts getting bad?
exactly

When it snowed in 2008, they sent everyone home at my high school right after it stopped snowing. Like that makes any sense..? Why not just finish the day instead of making young kids drive home in fresh snow.

I can't ever recall closures like this over a threat of thunderstorms/wind before.

Hurricanes, Ice/Freezing rain, etc.

This is a new one for BR.

They don't want to get sued if bad weather does happen and a commuter is injured. With all the other schools closing, you're asking for trouble on the off chance something does happen.

LSU used to stay open in my day for nearly everything. They actually didn't close until 2pm the day Rita hit....the first wave passed through the area around noon the same time.

Tomorrow will be such a joke. No hurricanes in several years and now everyone gets worked up over a fn thunderstorm. This state and country is so fn pussified.

I won't complain about schools being closed. I get some much deserved quality time with my little mongrel.
