Got a vasectomy yesterday. Chose to be put under rather than in office w local anesthetic
So far it’s been very easy. Chilling on my recliner w an ice pack on my balls at the moment.

It taught me at a young age to help take care of my family. Also....it’s not like my parents had me babysit when I had other planned things going on. I was 15-16 years old....what other big plans was I supposed to have on a regular Saturday night? I wasn’t involved with sports or other extracurricular activities. When I didn’t have plans to spend the night at a friend’s house that weekend....that’s when they took advantage and went to dinner or a movie or something and had me babysit.

Congrats but I’m 42 and I think having a baby on the way would put me in the looney bin faster than I’m gonna be going in.

While I'm not saying the arrangement was justified, older children taking care of their siblings has been a thing for literally centuries in human societies.
How else do you think large families were able to raise all of their children adequately throughout the ages?

I was CPR certified at 12 years old and had been babysitting for extra money since then. Always loved caring for kids even back then.
So watching my younger siblings wasn’t that big a deal to me. I loved having a baby sister much younger than me. Loved helping take care of her as a baby.
Only time I got annoyed at watching them is if I had to say no to last minute plans with friends. But that’s just life....you don’t always get what you want. When you have younger siblings much younger than you...you help care for them.
So watching my younger siblings wasn’t that big a deal to me. I loved having a baby sister much younger than me. Loved helping take care of her as a baby.
