Old Huey P and Old Bridge in BR. I never got to drive on it but, when I was a kid, ridden with parents across the Causeway when it was a single span. The old Highway 11 span was no fun either.

Right here.. And I was driving a 1982 Lincoln and the 18 wheeler wasn't just trying to pass he did.. I was white knuckling that freaking steering wheel the whole time.
Same situation, I was in my 84 Buick which had very sensitive power steering.
Yeah, that was scary

In the 60s they had a pontoon bridge (MRGO) going to Chalmette. It was the only way to access De Parrish from east new orleans.

There was one in Columbus MS that went to a shitty dive bar. It was one lane and had a traffic signal. Only one car was allowed to cross it at a time. There was a sign about rolling your windows down so you could get out of the car if it collapsed into the river.

Just outside of Chidester, Ark at a place called red hill. Wooden bridge going across Little Missouri River. It didn’t have guard rails. Just a two track going across the water. She the water was high and fast you could feel the bridge moving under the truck. It washed away several years ago. This is between Tate’s Bluff and Whelen Springs if any you southern arky guys are familiar with this.

Chesapeake Bay Bridge or The New River Gorge Bridge in WV for me

A lot different than everything else here - the blind one way bridges in Hawaii
Did some of those on the north side of Kauai and while usually not a big deal are pretty anxious to go across because you can't see who is coming and going when there is literally only room for one car

I developed a debilitating fear of bridges in my 40's...first major panic attack occurred on the Delaware Memorial Bridge.
FYI for those who don't live up north and may not know--the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel are two different bridges and nowhere near each other. I've been on both, and I have to say I think the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Annapolis is far far scarier...even as a passenger I was huddled in a ball in tears.

Back in the day, up to the 80's, there was a single span timber bridge that connected Bucktown, on Orpheum St, to the West End area of New Orleans. It had a curve in it and ran right next to Brunings Restaurant. When it rained it was slick as goose shite and many cars went into the lake if they sped a crossed it.
I was scared to death crossing that bridge when we went to eat at West End when I was a kid. It was supposed to be a single span, but two cars could fit on it and passed each other many times.
In 1980, they turned it to a pedestrian only bridge.
They eventually replaced the old timber bridge with a concrete foot bridge, and now that's gone with the new pumping station.

Haven't gone through 9 pages yet, but...
In my youth, the Huey P Narrow, no doubt. That thing was a trail by fire.
As an adult, I drove across a one lane converted railroad trestle near McCarthy Alaska. Over what seemed like about a 1,000' gourge. I've almost completely blacked out the experience. To and from! It was hairy.

Carpenter's Bluff Bridge, Red River, Denison Texas
Old railroad bridge converted to a one lane bridge. It also had a "side lane" - weak rusty guard rails, very narrow, down into the river you'd go. The side lane was very rickety (see pic). Some of the boards were missing. The concrete lane is where the trains used to go, the rickety "side lane" was originally where cars went. I think the side lane is either gone or blocked now.
In college, we'd drive over it for the thrill.

Astoria-Megler Bridge over the Columbia
We spent a few days in Astoria 3 years ago and I looked at that thing everyday and was glad I didn't have to cross it.

It's not a bridge, it's a road, but in 1998 I was in Cebu and the bus driver was driving on Manipis Road.
The wheels of the bus were on the edge of the road(the ravine was 500 feet down).
Never did that dumb shite again.

I think he’s talking about the two lane bridge south of Cairo. There is a 4 lane bridge north of Cairo that’s I-57. If you head south of town, one two lane crosses the Mississippi into Missouri and another crosses the Ohio River into Kentucky.
I’m voting the Brookport bridge from Brookport, Ill into Paducah.
