. From internet unsure if true.

I mean opportunity cost of just being in a SP500 was probably 8% a year

Also people sold bought house etc and had that taken away

Yeah was grift and just laying off others with new investment

Was always so curious if they had fake history of trades to justify returns

Like how easy should it have been busted

Watergate doesn’t bother me. Does your conscience bother you?

You might want to read up on that.

Looks like you've got some reading to do, homie. Maybe stay in your lane next time. You're probably good at Golden Tee or something... right?

CNN: Bernie Madoff's victims recovered 94% of their money

"Justice" Department

Of course the DoJ's spin will be "wow, we're so great, we found all this money!" Uhhh, no... you threw the guy who knew where it was into prison, and he died, and then you had to find it.

As I said: totally overblown.

Watergate. I was a kid when it happened. I asked my grandparents what it was all about and they said I would understand when I was older which is what they told me about sex. I grew up thinking that it was a sex scandal. When I got older and learned about it in school, I thought it was overblown.

Still hard to fathom the country went into meltdown over a botched breaking and entering in which nothing was stolen.

We impeached Nixon over trying to do what Obama and Biden have admitted to successfully doing for the last 12 or so years. And nobody cares.

I must really need glasses. I kept reading the topic as ”sandals you found overblown…”

I thought I was going read about fat women with cankles that should be no where near a beach nor wearing sandals in the first place. Why punish and innocent shoe with that terror.

This. You look at all the horrible events with mass casualties that occur home and abroad that are immediately forgotten. Then you have people still locked up and the ruling class talking in histrionics about this 4 years later.

Bernie Madoff's crime was failing to admit that he wasn't making his clients as much money as he'd said. He didn't just take all their deposits and steal them.

This is like calling Enron just an accounting error.

How dense are you? He stole $20 billion from investors because he never invested it.

The $16 billion they recovered is just taking the stolen money back. So $4 billion is still unaccounted for because he spent it.

The actual cash amount stolen was $20 billion but the potential amount is closer to $60 billion. That means if the stolen money was invested in a modest return index fund, it would have been worth $60.

I don’t understand what the disconnect is here.

The Ray Rice incident. I think if he doesn’t drag the body out of the elevator he gets less games.
