The only thing to do, that makes sense, is to let the clerk know when checking out. There is no need to get involved beyond that. You never know if you are dealing with some deranged frick, you call him out and he pulls out a gun and unloads. All for what? A few beers? Let the clerk know then move on.

This.

If I saw a real crime like an adult smoking pot, then I would do something about it.

But something like a 70year old man stealing a cpl cold beer from the store isn't worth him pulling a gun out and getting shot over.

I saw theft last Friday. I was at a Sports Authority picking up workout cloths and shoes from their going out of business sale. This a-hole was stealing shoes, then tries to walk to the restroom to throwaway his current shoes under his shirt. Loss prevention was on him with the quickness and the cops showed up in 30 secs. I didn't have to do anything, however the thought of telling a manager crossed my mind.

I try not to get involved in issues that don't concern me because you never know. People will do fricked up things to avoid jail.

Watch what he's stealing. If it's something good sneak up on him in the parking lot. Pew pew pew. Take what he stole and keep for yourself.

Not interested in fighting a possibly AIDS infested homeless dude over a few beers. They have insurance for that shite.

Knowing my compliant arse, I woulda told him I would pay for it. BTW, stealing is like rape and murder to me. Taking shite that isn't yours, whether sex, a life or some tangible goods, not ok.

Yeah.....no.

You sound like Jennifer Lawrence after her her nudes and pics of her taking a cum shot to the face were leaked claiming it was rape to look at those pics.

Edit. Theft is sad and inexcusable but I doubt anyone's life was ruined over that guy stealing a cpl cold beer.

I didn't say in the eyes of the law. Just how I view thieves.

Taking shite that isn't yours? Low, real fricking low. Oh, and raped by a stranger 2 years ago, so I can compare. Stealing is dirty and low down.

I'm not defending theft. Just saying I would mind my own business instead of getting involved over a cpl beers. Not worth me or the clerk getting shot if the guy had a gun.

I accidentally walked out of the dollar store with some Advil I had put in my pocket the other day (hands were full and I got more items than I intended on) and went back and paid for them later. If you knew me you would know I am honest to a fault IRL. But that's OK.

Even as an opiate abuser for nearly two decades (almost 6 weeks clean yesterday fwiw) I've never stole the first pill, gram, or dollar from anyone given a million chances. So I detest theft and/or dishonesty myself.

Whereas if I walked up on someone getting raped or or mugged or something like that I would call the police at the very least if not intervene.

Congrats on the sex.

Edit. I bet you think him stealing a cpl beers is as bad as him being a pedo too.

How were you raped? Was it a smash and grab type thing or were you both drunk???

I'm honestly curious

ETA: than sounded a little harsh... What I meant was did someone just randomly throw themselves on you or was it something else?

The private stuff people post amazies me.

I know that's a little ironic considering I just posted about being high since before most posters were born, but I'm also not going to get my panties in a wad when someone calls me a junky, etc.

I was recently in a convenience store and, less than 20 feet from the cashier, saw a teenage girl loading her backpack with jerky, slim jims, etc. It was so blatant I was kind of astonished. The cashier, manager, and another customer were chatting away oblivious. I started to say something then thought, being the only white person in the store (girl was a dreamer, store employees were from that peaceful religion), no positive outcome could result for me, so I paid for my stuff and left.
