**UPDATED**
The young bird rested in the box and hydrated for about 4 hours in the laundry room. I left and came back after eating some beans and chicken to find no bird in the box. My mistress lady found him next to a rubber water boot for big Baws like myself. He perched up on her hand and when we opened the door he flew off into the Pine Tree I found him at at its base.
And freak all you punk bitches that wouldn't have saved that bird. Those ants would have killed him. He over exerted himself and bit off more than he could chew. He is fine now.
Not a better feeling in the world than helping save a life. Human or animal.
To all you counts who think I am just a meanie, whore hating, man-pie, I have a huge heart too.
Found a small sparrow on the ground and picked him up wits ants all over him. Brushed them off, got a shoe box; continued to provide brush for comfort along with providing water through a dropper along with some bird food--small enough to eat.
Mom may have kicked it out, maybe not, but won't sit by and watch it die.
Now who wants to marry The Man?

Good job. Feed it canned pasty cat food and feed it often and it will grow up fine. I've raised 2 babies that I found like that. Both did not have feathers or even had there eyes open.
It will see you as "momma" and climb all over you. Keep it in a small cage when it gets a little bigger or it will get everywhere. When it's tail feathers are fully developed you can let it go.

Great job. I don't want to fail.
As I said, he has feathers and may have been able to fly. I don't know how he got to be on the ground.
He has eyes open and is responsive.

Has tail feathers. Can't tell what is wrong. I have to go out. I'll be back in about 30 minutes and hopefully some of you Baws and Bawettes have some more info.

If it has wing and tail feathers, it's probably a fledgling and trying to learn to fly. Mother is probably looking all over for the little guy.
Way to frick with nature.

If he is able to perch place sticks in box so he doesn’t get dirty. Soak puppy chow in water and feed the bird that, not can cat food. Likely a fledgling and they spend 2-3 weeks bouncing around before being able to fly like an adult

I've had enough sparrows nest in my eves that I might have killed it with a lawn mower

Basically all you need to know is just what I've told you. They aren't hard to care for. Feed it a pinch or two of moist canned cat food every few hours during the day. When it hears you and it's hungry it will start yelping. Otherwise it's quite. I would keep it in old rags when it's little because it will shite A LOT. But besides that and having to feed it kinda regularly especially when it's little they're not difficult to raise. Should be ready to let go within a month tops. Enjoy it raising a wild baby animal will make you feel good about yourself.
Google should tell you all you need to know. But I think you've got it covered.

What kind d of sparrow? There are a lot of a-hole types of sparrows that are better off being killed.

We had a baby cardinal hopping around the yard this spring, parents were watching it... had feathers and all. Watched it for a few days and didn’t want to mess with it. We went out of town and that last cold front came through with rain in April I think... came back and found it dead in the yard, I was pissed. Not sure if it froze or starved

Thank You for your help
Went and got a cage and some cat food.
Will nurse along until it can fly.
It is sleeping right now.

We had a pet blue jay growing up. Fed it raw hamburger which probably is more like the worms they eat. We would buy a small package and separate small quantities into baggies and freeze keeping one in the fridge to feed him.
The eye dropper is how we gave him water when young. Then we just kept a container of water in his cage. Pretty sure it was a mason jar lid we used.
When it starts flying watch your coffee. I don't know how many cups of coffee my parents lost to the thing trying to bathe in them. He never tried it in glasses of water it was always coffee cups.
Our bird became part of the family. We would even take him outside and let him fly around.
