the bolded part was especially difficult to read

quote:

“Everyone outside the room realized what happened. His mother ran in. She was screaming, ‘No, no, not yet!’ I handed her son back and left as fast as I could.

I have a five year old boy and I've lost a child. This story was an emotional kick in the nuts.

I'm so grateful for people like this Santa -- that take the job so seriously that he put on a brave face to help guide this scared, sick little kid through his final moments.

I'm so grateful for anyone who brings comfort to those who are suffering.

That kid needed someone to tell him it was ok to go. Someone he trusted.

I'm so effing wrecked right now.

So for the slow folks like myself, did the boy mean help him die when he said "Santa can you help me"?

The part that got me was him asking Santa how he'll know when he gets to where he's going.

That is exactly right. I had a friend who was dying years ago. He was fighting hard for every breath even while comatose. It was awful to witness.

I leaned down and told him we'd look after his family. Immediately, he relaxed and quit fighting. Just wanted reassurance and permission to go.

Wow. Tough to read. ??????

Thanks for posting I did not see the early one so screw the idiots giving you a hard time about reposting.

As a dad this kind of thing scares me because I'm not sure I'm strong enough to face my kids being hurt.

I commented on the other thread too, but these stories are too much sometimes. This one hurts to read, physically hurts.
