San Francisco was a great city, it’s disappointing on how it’s turned out. Our corporate office was in San Ramon so we frequently went in into the city. It’s a damn shame.

"The coldest Winter I ever felt, was the Summer I spent in San Francisco." - attributed to Mark Twain, but probably originated by English actor James Quin - droll from an Englishman when their weather is absolute rubbish.

This means the Central Valley is hotter than hell.

It can be 60 degrees in SF in June and 15 miles inland it’s 110.

While they are in a cool spell right now, nothing says fun like 103 degrees as you pass the Harris Ranch feedlot off I-5.
The raw smell steaming cow manure permeates for a 50 mile radius.

I went to San Francisco in June, 2013 and bought a jacket a few hours after my flight landed. I struggled to understand how/why it was so cold for the duration of my visit.

On my last day there, I was at Fisherman's Wharf as a group of naked male bicyclists came pedaling through. I've never seen a more clear or direct hint that it was time to go home.
