San Antonio is a great place.

Taking advantage of no state income tax, great schools, etc...

Folks need to understand that only 7 states decreased in population between 2017 and 2018 and Louisiana was one of them, lost over 10K.

Guess which state gained over 1K people per day? Yup, TX.

San Antonio/Austin will be a giant metroplex in 10 years.

The population projections for the Texas Triangle are ridiculous.

San Antonio is underrated.

We've been there 3 times in the last 2 years. Every visit is a pleasure. For the most part very clean. The restaurants are good; especially Mi Tierra Café y Panaderia which is our favorite. The road system is excellent. You can be most places that's across the city in 15-20 mins.

Last time we check the Pearl Brewery area. It's def yuppie, but really nice.

The problem is his son probably has an education of some sort. About 80% of the jobs in Louisiana are plant and petro related and barely require a GED.

Former USMC, now does computer coding and programming for a tech start up.

This is responding to others: First thing I noticed about San Antonio was the lack of litter compared to Louisiana. Also, I didn't see a lot of culcha. The service at restaurants everywhere was top notch.

The bums are even nicer.

I can promise you no one from Austin is willingly moving to San Antonio.

I’ve been 3 times in the past year and enjoyed it every time!
The Mexican food was outstanding, the people were awesome.

Also went for the Final Four and they handled the crowd well. The river walk was open container and a lot of fun with all of the fans.
I’m definitely going back next time they get a Final Four.

Good thing too. Cause around 80% of the population barely has a GED level of education.

This is a double whammy for those decreasing states. Usually the ones leaving are educated people that give to society instead of take. Those states not only now have fewer decent people overall, but now the ratio of trash to not-trash has risen.

It’s okay... nice scenery, fairly clean, things to do...somewhat. River walk is cool but gets old fast. I had interviews in both Houston and SA. Much rather Houston. Say what you want about Houston, but it’s way more appealing than living in San Antonio.

Also, SA feels like Mexico. Not my thing but others obviously like it.

I agree. San Antonio feels too much like Mexico to me. Give me Houston or DFW any day over SA

Liberals are like a virus. They multiply in a host cell until they destroy the host, spreading to healthier cells only to repeat the process.

7 states decreased #1 was Puerto Rico as a result of the hurricane. #2 was NY at 48K but such a large population can withstand such a decrease. But 10K for Louisiana in one year is substantial. The leading state getting those 10K was TX. Many had job transfers but also as family moved to TX many followed.

I know of 2 in my daughter's pre K class alone. They came a few times to visit family noticed the better quality of life and moved. Savings with no private school tuition, car insurance is 1/2, electric is cheaper, no tax on groceries, etc...plus in burbs of Houston housing is cheaper and more bang for your buck. House insurance is cheaper. Nicer house for same amount of money and save money considering no state income tax and property tax increase a wash.
