It is from the West if you’re coming over Mobile Bay. Haven’t heard about it from the East coming from the AL/FL line and Pensacola Bay.

We have a house in the Colony neighborhood around Lakewood Golf Course in Fairhope. Any idea if the roads are open to get to it? I know the house took a small amount of damage, I’m just trying to figure out if I can make the trip from Baton Rouge to there to get a look at it.

Can anyone point us to a shelter or church in the Pensacola or Destin area that is in need of bottled water and canned goods? We have a load headed that way now that needs a destination

The weather nerds did not get this one right, protestations to the contrary, especially intensity wise.

Some of the aforementioned nerds are the same ones selling the climate change theory.

If they can't get something 24 hours in advance right, why should I buy into their learned huffing and puffing about climate change?

Sugar beach 306 doesn’t seem to have roof damage outside of it but some standing water in hall doesn’t appear it got in.

Check the other side on third floor by tennis courts. It’s a different story. I have pics

Posters in this thread called out a likelihood of cat 2 landfall days before actual landfill. Also mentions of uncertainty in track due to atmospheric steering features were mentioned, specifically the scenario involving either westward wander vs. northward (and eastward) turn, depending on changes in steering. That all came from some of the weather nerds.

Climate change is fake science. It is not even science, more like purchased geopolitical propaganda.

Just got word from a family friend that has a place at Shipwatch Condos in Perdido that he had a decent amount of damage. He's on the Bay side, had shattered windows, soaked floors, furniture thrown around, etc.
He's a mile or 2 from my parents house, we're heading down there tomorrow morning, hoping they fared a little better.

This is what I posted in this thread three days before landfall:

Yep. From how things are looking and GFS's trend to the weaker end so far this year, a strengthening 2 at landfall seems possible.

I posted this Saturday:

quote:

It's going to intensity. I think upper Cat 2 is the ceiling at this point. Late track shear and needing to spend some time on organization put a lid on high end potential.

That being said, it did intensify into landfall and I was thinking too low the night of landfall. About 5:00 Tuesday night I was thinking 85-90 mph and wouldn't be able to get back to a Cat 2.

So swing and a miss there.

It didn’t seem it did, mine are ok minus some water spots on celling.

The one I’m selling at 109 was great.

Does the nhc record an exact lat/long for landfall for historical records/data or just an approximate location?
