In all seriousness, his track record shows his chances of dying young were very high.
Still doesn't give Salamoni a pass to act like a raging lunatic

Meh I could be wrong, but I think huge guy with a gun on him (esp if they were aware of his violent record), aggressive show of force is a viable option. I'd imagine halting his movement and disarming him is the immediate concern and nice talk is unlikely to do that in many cases.
Even if you think a more aggressive stance is right in the situation- I’m not sure why you think THAT was the right way to execute the technique.
Running in and giving sterling an immediate shot of adrenaline is a terrible way to engage - no?

Idk, that’s why I said I would like to know that info, I think it’s very possible considering his rap sheet

I wanna ask you a thought provoking question that I know can relate to something you do.
When lifting at absolute max lift, how perfect is your technique?

That should be the post to end this thread

started when a man selling CD’s in front of a store pulled a gun on someone.
Honest question: did we ever confirm that happened? I know there was a 911 call but I genuinely don’t remember if it was ever confirmed

Then it was never an absolute max.

If I didn't answer your question, what the hell is it? I told you I didn't think the cop escalated it. Sterling did.
Salamoni did 2 things that were not by book:
1.) put his hands on him in the beginning
2.) tackled him likely earlier than necessary (but could be more evidence still)
I've seen both of these happen plenty of times before. I've seen cops put hands on people before they should have, and I've seen cops tackle people when it wasn't necessary.
The only reason Salamoni is getting fired here is because of Sterling being a POS with a gun.
If Sterling didn't have a gun, and he listened then he's alive today. Salamoni was partially in the wrong and a guy died from it. But that's still not his fault.

They played it on air earlier

Do you realize how fast someone can pull a gun and shoot you?
For real, I’m a pro cop, Republican sort of guy. Check my cred.
I’m just saying that the moment in which Salamoni went in for the tackle, it was not needed. Sterling was hands to the side and the cops were drawn down on him.
If Sterling would have went for his pocket or charged one of them, kill his arse.
He had a snub 38 in the pocket of his saggy cargo shorts. If he could have dug that out of his pocket before Lake and Salamoni could have put 8 rounds in him we’d be good.
You act like Alton Sterling was Raylan Givens.

That’s true too
Which is why training has to mimic real life situations as much as possible bc of sympathetic nervous system (fight, flight, or freeze)
