Considering water makes up almost 75% of the surface of earth, I'd like to see the math on this.

As a person the works in finances and accounting for 40 years I would stake my last decade of earnings that their math is wrong..

Raises the sea level two feet for about 25 seconds. Forgot that minor detail.

you are dividing cubic miles (volume) by square miles (area). Something is missing, isn't it?

No, ft^3/ft^2 = ft. In this case the ft is the height if you spread a volume over an area.

If only we had 3/4 of a century to prepare for this.

We are in an ice age.

Of course we were in the 70s as well.

Yes, dividing volume by area leaves you with a linear dimension, in this case water depth.

My god, do you really not know how to deal with volume and area? My math is right, you are dumb.

I’m not saying any of this is going to happen but from using your link it looks like New Orleans turns into an island at 1 foot of sea level rise. Not sure what you are talking about.

Everything you love about new orleans is because of aqua people.

Total surface area of earth-196,900,000 square miles. Total water surface area-139,000,000 square miles Florida-66,000 square miles Yeah, their numbers are bullshite.

Probably, but not necessarily. If the glacier was 5,000 feet tall it would do the trick.
ETA: It’s about 650 feet thick, so they are full of shite. Maybe they meant 2”?

Of course, there is no mechanism by which a glacier like this could suddenly get dumped into the sea. Nor could it melt in a century. As I said 30 years ago when this shite got under way: “There is no such thing as imminent, catastrophic, man-made global warming. We have at least 100 years, and that’s plenty enough that technology will solve the problem without us making lifestyle sacrifices.”

Back then they were saying that by 2025, or 2050 AT THE LATEST, the earth would warm 3.5 to 6.5 degrees F. Now they are saying that the 3.5 degrees could be seen as soon as the end of this century. That’s 50 years later than the LONGEST time they said was possible, and that’s to reach the low end of the warming range they predicted.

Tl;dr: The warming alarmists have been proved wrong!

They're not full of shite as far as the amount of ice, it really is enough to raise sea levels by 2 feet. This "alarmist" article about 5 years is referring to the ice shelves which help to keep the glacier on land. They could very well collapse that quickly, but that would just allow the glacier to move faster than its current rate of like a mile per year. It would probably still take a century for the glacier to raise sea levels that much.

Maybe so, but unfortunately there are a lot of people who fight against that technology every step of the way.

Serious question? Why do people hate Obama so much? I'd like to get a legit answer one time.

Serious answer. bullshite Barry was an unqualified, incompetent, arrogant, lying, racist, thin-skinned, narcissistic, megalomaniac.

Did I forget anything? Yes, I most certainly did. I forgot that he is also self-absorbed, cynical, hypocritical, vindictive, petulant, and lazy.

He was the most divisive POTUS in history. The division you see in our nation today. Is the legacy of that skinny-assed scumbag.

frick Obama.

“Doomsday Glacier” is the perfect example of a sensationalist media headline.
