Nope, haven't been scouring the Web looking for vids of this nature to post, nor do I have it out for white people (married to one), Greek life (was never a part of it), or OU (different conference). That would be "hunting"

I see what you're saying, but I don't know if that would placate the other multitudes of people he offended.

I'm sure there is more than one way to skin a cat, but I just can't feel that bad for this kid.

To me, this is a classic "play stupid games, win stupid prices" situation.

If college is truely about educating they would educate him on the situation, make him face the music by having discussions with minorities around campus, and let him learn. ...theres more to educating then just whats on a syllabus.

But that isnt nearly as fun as pitchforks. have a great opportunity to take an a-hole and show we are above have hate speech aNd show that this group of n words to him is actually willing to forgive. Not only do you change his mind you change his friends and family's view.By trying to ruin a life i doubt hes gonna change his views on them...

100% agree.

I don't feel bad for him either but using this as a teaching opportunity may be mkre fruitful. Then again, he could learn from

You haven't kept up with SAE at LSU over the last 20 years, have you? We've been kicked off campus, banned eternally and put on double secret probation about 10 times. None of it was over racist bullshite like this OU thing.

We had standards at LSU. We only made fun of the Irish with Paddy Murphy.

David Boren could give a rats arse about the video other than he knows this is going to impact OU football and its ability now to recruit african american athletes.

If you have to appease the masses nothing will be enough. How about we tell people lets use our big boy pants and put feelings aside and change minds instead of wanting eye for eye. In the end it was a song that shouldnt effect ones personal every day life....so why not try to make it a better place than continue to feed the hate...

Yep. I'm also a little confused about how his "education" would transpire on this matter.

I guess chapter 1 would involve explaining all of the features that are on cell phones these days.

If he and his brothers were smart they would have made anyone that recorded the chant delete it from their phone before they could get off the bus. They obviously saw the phones out recording, they could have nipped it right in the bud.

I feel no remorse for him, but I do feel bad for the scores of good, proud Sooner friends I have who are absolutely mortified by this news.

I'll defer to their druthers on how to handle the situation publicly.

Well, it seems that it has opened a dialogue on campus and the administrators are using it as an opportunity to educate... Just without the offending parties present.

I can certainly understand the argument that they've forfeited their right to be a part of the dialogue.

Any learning experience is educating. If he learns that n isnt what he thinks they are then he changes his view forever

Or, y'know, maybe kinda sorta not do the chant at all so you don't have to even worry about tracks to cover

Ok not force him..but give him the opportunity.

I just think its a great stage that would make huge news instead of anger we could show forgiveness. Think it could open alot of peoples eyes
