Anyone else find this a bit disturbing for network TV?
SF commercial

Never getting married...gets married.
Never having kids...has kids.

On and on until the last horrible scene where he's sitting with the family and says I'm never letting go...which if the commercial has taught us anything, he's definitely leaving them. Such a bizarre message, plan for the inevitable...sure, but to leave your damn family? GD State Farm, I'm just trying to watch this stupid alien show...you don't have to keep it so damn real.

She leaves him for the BBC anyways. I take it you never saw Part II.

What? This is crazy, even for you.

I actually think the commercial is kinda funny and makes me think of all the 21 years olds on the OT talking about how they are never getting married and having kids

but yeah...that last scene, which is supposed to be heartwarming, but if it goes in line with the commercial, it means the next scene would be him leaving his family

well the point was that he's changed and developed into a real, "modern man" so yeah this is just wrong

i mean even his delivery displays his newfound wisdom

he's not confident and direct. he's contemplative and his delivery is slow and intending to be meaningful

It's one of my favorite commercials. Not sure how it's disturbing.

I took it to mean that either he died, or they died. Either way, I don't like the commercial.

Top comment is great

quote:

"I am never letting go."

inside a car
"Bye kids!...Man I am never gonna see them again."

in a bar
"Hello there, pretty lady!"
girl turns "...Dad?"
"O_O I am never going to be able to forget this!"

in hospital bed
Doctor: "I'm afraid he's been in an accident where he has been given amnesia. He won't be able to remember the last 30 years of his life. He is never going to be able to go to another pool party again."

at a pool party
"I AM NEVER GETTING MARRIED!"
"Never?"
"Guaranteed!"?

Just realized how fricked up the ending is.

I've seen this thing a bunch and never caught on till just now.

Creepy as hell.

Considering SF does life insurance I'm thinking the next scene (if they had one) would've been a funeral 30 years down the road
