Well that would be Farmerville and not Ruston so there is that.

it's a trade off. Short drive to get something to eat. But you leave all the white trash and culchuh behind when you're done eating and head back west on I-20.

Don't leave out Farmerville or Dubberly.

Leaving Baton Rouge and going to Ruston is like going back in time 35 years.

Pretty sure it was Lowes, but I get what you're saying.

I hope you're saying this is a good thing.
I'm pretty familiar with that area but my wife had never been to Ruston. We went and toured Tech with my HS son a couple weeks ago. She wanted him to go to LSU, but after visiting, she changed her mind.
BR is a shithole with outside of LSU; Ruston is a nice quiet town with La. Tech. The choice seems pretty obvious to me.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

In Louisiana/Mississippi, I can think if better places.
St. Francisville, False River/New Roads, Ocean Springs, Toledo Bend, Grand Isle, Biloxi, etc. would all be better spots IMO.
Maybe I just don't understand Ruston that much.

There's at least stuff to do there.
