South Louisiana would be a strategic target. We're a big part of the O&G industry.

So much more than that is the NOLA port. Destroy that and you shut down supply distribution of food and materials to the entire eastern half of the country. A great deal of resources are transported using the Mississippi, through NOLA port and around/up the eastern coast through inter coastal canals.

The energy industry (offshore, onshore, pipelines, LNG, refining, chemicals, storage) is what separates Louisiana from say, Mississippi and Alabama, when it comes to real national significance.

You wouldn't really need a nuke to set those kinds of places blazing.

Yup. They would have to take their best shot and hope they have massive damage, because whoever does this will be wiped if the map within in hours.

If you want to cripple a major part of the Deep South, you target the two BR bridges. If they somehow were to collapse you would have a total disaster…..

So, with this drone footage, the Russians now know we have levees on the Miss. River, chemical plants all down the river? And now they’ve learned about the port in New Orleans?
All our secrets are gone!
We’re toast!

Same goes for SWLA.

The Strategic Oil Reserve is in Cameron Parish. Along with all the LNG plants.

The most vital target in southeast Louisiana lies upriver near the Mississippi border.

In my very limited knowledge outside my own opinion stance - it feels as if the likelihood of a nuclear war between the big boys would be minimal considering how intertwined the global economy is. Please don’t nuke me tho

There are no global economic decisions that come in to play when deciding to launch nukes as an economy would not exist once it's all said and done. Nuking is all about mutually assured destruction. "If I'm going down, you're going down with me."
