Who was that? Didn't seem like too many were doing that.

Yes Oil and Petrochemicals have brought employment and benefits to Louisiana. The industry has bought many government officials of both parties over the years. Louisiana sold it's soul for these benefits.

In return Louisiana has Cancer Alley. Louisiana has a lot less land and marsh. Look at a map of Louisiana today and a map of Louisiana from 1960. The state is disappearing before your eyes. This means that hurricanes are more devastating and Louisiana residents are paying for it in higher utility bills to pay for past hurricane damages. Home owner insurance policies are getting very expensive.

Take a balanced look at "Economic Benefits" and the true non monetary costs of this prosperity.

Well then he shouldn’t be calling for refinery expansions. He should champion forcing more closures.

Of course, that would cause gasoline prices to rise more…

I have zero respect for that guy. How dare he come up with this bullshite after all he's said. This isn't their fault; they're responding to his hostile as hell party's energy "policies".

They should officially respond with a blatant "GFY".

The damage to our coastline, while exacerbated by O&G activity, is as much or more related to the ACOE civil projects involving the Mississippi River and the inaction of our own state agencies. You can blame the oyster fishing lobby too. Your dismissal of the economic impact of all these existing industries is laughable. What would you offer to replace existing industrial employers if you could get a do-over? You want to make a true analysis? Compare what
You have- bad as it may be IYO- with what things would be like without them. What magical economic machine would be thriving in this state if it wasn’t the industries you seem to hold in contempt?

I’ve never liked the guy, and I’m a resident of SC. Seems like a blowhard who loves publicity.

Sounds like many of you La residents aren’t too fond of him either.

Refinery i work for had a record production month in June...Really can't squeeze much more out this lemon...And like Redstick stated...LNG and Oil Refining are two completely different operations...

What role does hemming up the river with levees, preventing redeposition of solids into the marshes, play on land loss?

Certain people believe whatever Honore says like it is some deep pontification. Honore has zero experience in this capacity.

He has been and will continue to be a one half star general with a brain to match. He does have a four star mouth however.

Right because capacity increases are free and as easy as flipping a switch.

Increasing refining capacity without increasing production is putting the cart before the horse.
