8th grade year our unionized teachers went on strike.
Rumors swirled that a student "walk out" was going to take place in support of our teachers
The principal caught wind and grabbed one of the supposed "ringleaders" out of class. He then goes onto the PA system and announced that anyone who participates in the walkout would be expelled. He was furious, speaking in very angry tones and in the end he made the accused student state that there was "No Walkout ever planned"...the student sounded terrified.

I believe all of this happened but why start a thread about some random night in your life? I don't even feel like this story fits the subject all that well.

No, They were using the Centroplex as a shelter for evacuees. It was the same as the Superdome situation, though.
Rumors like that basically caused all gun shops to sell out of everything they had.

I already said I didn't believe the rumor. I wasn't even the one to start it. But I see it has caused unnecessary panic.
