Woke up one time in the middle for about two seconds before they knocked me out again.

I have to have a colonoscopy once a year. Colon cancer runs real high in my family.

I remember mine. It was several years ago, and my first. Right before they knock me out, the doctor, who was a family friend, pats me on the shoulder and tells me, "Don't worry, it won't be any worse than prison."

I still laugh about that now, but I was scared shitless (get it) then. You will be fine, the worst is over.

My dad passed away from it, I was 33 last year when I had my first one. My prostrate exam won't be until I'm 40 most likely

Fat fingered an up vote and missed and gave you the accidental down vote. My apologies to you and your sore bung. Been there and done the flush 3 times. Yikes!

I had no issues with the prep it was easy. I had issues after the procedure as I could be the fart and was in such pain. The car ride home was miserable in my wife's little Mercedes which does not handle bumps well

I didn't find the prep to be as bad as feared. I didn't have to drink anything nasty. I just had to mix some OTC stuff with gatorade and take some stool softeners. 36 hours later I was peeing clear liquid out of my butt. Wet wipes and my kindle were clutch. The only thing that really bothered me was not eating. The actual procedure was a breeze. Don't remember a thing about it other than watching them stick the medicine in the IV and then waking up to a lot of farts.

"Clear" poo looks a lot like apple juice or yellow gatorade if you had to drink golytely as your prep. We give it to kids all the time to clean them out if they are admitted with severe constipation.

Golytely is the most misnamed thing.....you don't go "lightly" at all

You're always supposed to schedule a colonoscopy in the morning so you don't have to go the whole day without eating.

Get upon the probiotics once you get back to the world. and don't say anything dumb while the anesthesia takes hold.

You shouldn't be going through round 2.

A lot of doctors prefer a divided dose as it gives a cleaner image of the colon. Mine was at like 6 PM the night before and 4:00 AM the morning of.

The drug they give you to put you under is real nice. You get all warm and fuzzy and the next thing you know you are in recovery. Preps the hard part. You're almost there.

Friend of mine had one done and the doctor springs "you don't mind a few observers, do you?" on him. Next thing he knows there are two dozen student nurses staring at his arse.

I now hate green Gatorade.......

ETA: What also found funny was the dosage of the laxative was 2 tablespoons, yet the pre-scope instructions were two whole bottles over a couple of hours.
