Looking at the facts of his case he did some pretty bad stuff including hiring someone to murder someone else.

The silk road was just icing on the cake.

Nah, they wanted the website and all that BTC he was sitting on. Hell, one cop went down for stealing some of the BTC IIRC.

He made lots of mistakes early on and got in way over his head. As would anyone that wasn't already a high level black market person.

All this would be for nothing if people didn't still believe erroneously that prohibition works.

US Attorney moved to dismiss that charge.

Likely reason: It was made up

He hired someone to murder someone else and he ran a website that sold tons of illegal paraphernalia...

End of story. He's exactly where he belongs.

Not really. Serve some time, sure. The point is that he's being used to make a point. And my point is that if this sort of thing wasn't illegal against all logic, it wouldn't have happened anyway. He got such a harsh sentence because he exposed the government in a new way that they weren't capable of handling quickly and to attempt to set a precedent. Which, going along with my point, accomplished nothing since there are still multiple markets active.

I fricking miss the original SR.
Used to buy paint for my studio for literal pocket change. And super strong antibiotics.

Who got killed? People that admit guilt in murder cases serve less time than two life sentences.

And that's not the analogy anyway. My point is that if you killed me and get punished that still doesn't present a single murder in the future. And the case isn't about murder. It's about drugs.

Dude ran one of the most illegal backpage drug networks the feds have ever seen. He’s convicted of conspiracy of first degree murder, and conspiracy of murder for hire.

He’s exactly where he should be, for the rest of his life... twice.

If you haven’t read the Wired article outlining the whole Silk Road saga it’s a good read. Somewhat lengthy but it goes into great detail about everything Ross did to keep his website afloat. Dude definitely deserved some jail time but not two life sentences. Wired Silk Road

Allegedly. But I'm glad to know you have rock solid evidence of this.

Providing a platform for users to GASP...buy steroids, psychedelics, etc. should land someone in jail for life, is what you're saying. Noted.

You. You are part of the goddamn problem.
