I have to have one in the morning. It's on the tooth that I had my only cavity ever on.

Are they bad. My dentist said for the first 36 hours it can be painful but as long as I watch what I eat I'll be fine. My dentist gave me a shite ton of pain pills and said the endodontist will give me something stronger if I need it.

Not bad. Have had 2. Just make sure they numb the shite out of you and relax.

If an endodontist is doing it, it will be a breeze. Shouldn't take more than an hour or so, won't feel a thing, and it may be a little tender to bite on for a day or two. That's about it.

The abscess beforehand always hurts much worse than the root canal.

In Alabama is this considered a subtle “I have teeth” brag?

My rule of thumb is if it's on a tooth with one root, like in the front of your mouth, it's not too bad.

Molars suck arse. Sore for days. Get some good drugs from the dentist.

I've long since lost count on the number of root canals I've had. Hell, one tooth I had to have re=done twice because the original quack left pieces of the root and years later it started getting infected. The whole roof of my mouth would swell with puss so bad I couldn't close my mouth. Good times, lemme tell ya.

If it isn't hurting before, it won't hurt during. An infection can make the novocaine not be effective, otherwise no issues...

I’ve never gotten more than 800mg ibuprofen after a root canal which I really didn’t need. Never a pain killer.

I’ve had multiple root canals and never had or needed a pain killer.

I have had two on molars, procedure was not uncomfortable, had no pain afterward other that jaw being sore from holding my mouth open for so long. Took a couple of advil, no other pain meds.
