I've had seven of them. The only lingering pain I had from any of the seven - the high price of getting one. Looks to me your dentist was giving you the worst case scenario.
Be sure and ask for the gas. Tell him/her to turn up the gas to full throttle. Tell him you have a tolerance for gas so he will give you a stronger dose. You won't have any discomfort. Have someone go with you to drive you home, gas or no gas.

Not bad at all.
I kept waiting for the bad pain but it never came. Just some pressure but your mouth is so numb you can’t feel anything.
Afterwards get some coffee with extra shots or a Mutant Soda. It’ll help the numbness leave quicker

Not really sure how it will hurt, considering that are removing the nerve from the tooth. You shouldn’t really feel any pain

I’ve had multiple root canals and never had any problems.
