Not exactly. You must have a reasonable belief that your life is in imminent danger or that you will suffer great bodily harm.
So, if you truly believe it, and it is reasonable to believe that will happen, you're likely clear.

also... in 1 of the earlier threads about the shooting... didn't it come out that the 2 vehicles were so close that an investigator had to push in 1 of the rear view mirrors to be able to move between them?
