Love that, although I prefer the white iteration by a smidge.
I like the white dial as well but it was not available when I bought this watch. This is the previous version with no wave dial. I understand the new version has a better movement but this watch is going on 4 years old and is accurate within +-3 seconds per day.

In my deep dive into the world of fine watches I found a new candidate that hasn't been talked about yet Ball Watches

A ball skindiver will almost definitely be my next one

They have some really innovative features.

Having a marathon now, I'm hooked on tritium. I love having easy time checks when I'm out camping with all the phones and stuff off.

They make good watches but man I can't bring myself to wear a watch called a "ballskindiver"

Just picked up this one after doing a bunch of research and figuring out what style I like best.
Love it.

Love it.

My only knock on it is you have to operate the helium valve manually. Pain in the arse when you're decompressing in the chamber after a deep dive, and I know all OTers are fully qualified mixed gas divers.

Ask 10 saturation divers what type of HEV valve they prefer and you will get 11 answers. Some just unscrew the stem on watches without an HEV during blow-down and depressurization. The general rule is all options even He proof watches (like the Seiko Tunas) will fail sooner or later it is just part of the savage environment they live in. Sat divers usually stay under compression for 28 days at a time so they only have to remember to open and close a manual valve twice during the month. All of them will tell you about a bunch of broken watches though. I could write a tomb about what I have learned about sat diving and watches (it is a sub-interest of mine) but as I noted before most every one of them has a different philosophy about watches and what are the best choices but as the years go by more and more wear cheap disposable watches and more and more of them wear no watch at all. Everything the working diver and the bellman need to know regarding time is communicated down to them by dive control on the surface.

I want a chronograph of some kind--leaning strongly toward pulling the trigger on a speedmaster moon watch, but there are a few things I'm not crazy about.
Manual wind. Not a dealbreaker but automatic would be nice.
~48 hours power reserve. I'd like a little more.
Only 50 meter water resistance. I'm not going diving with it, but from what I've read that's cutting it pretty close for anything in the real world more than washing your hands in the sink.
Speedmaster's major selling point is the historic/cool factor, which nobody else is going to touch, but is there another chronograph within a similar price range, say a couple of thousand dollars, that ticks most of the other boxes? Moonwatch is the leader in the clubhouse right now, but I don't anticipate starting a big watch collection, so I want to make sure I'm happy with what I get the first time.

How many times has this one been resurrected now?

You can only get your hands on an Omega. Rolex is a gray market markup.
Omega.
Omega.

Most models on their website are waitlisted. Don't know about at ADs
