The problem, from your position, is that the Ninth Amendment says enumeration itself doesn’t matte

If you share the first position, then the problem, from your other position position, is this ruling didn't outlaw abortion in America. Which should have always been the case, since there was never really a good basis to give them the right to make it legal at the federal level (which we both agree with at a basic level.)

Don't you find it rather odd that no actual constitutional legal scholars out there are making this argument?

Liberals and conservatives who want to view our rights through as narrow a scope as possible want to avoid expanding Ninth Amendment protections as much as possible, even if it hinders the arguments they are trying to make? No, doesn’t seem strange to me.

The Ninth Amendment is, in my view, the most important amendment. It’s no wonder that no one with any real power wants to argue its merits.

(Overturning Lochner is a major Constitutional blunder.)

As much as some of y'all hate black people, shouldn't y'all want black women, and white women that may have black biracial babies, to have abortions?

it was originally implemented to control the african american population. it was never about women's rights, id have more respect for abortion supporters if they would admit this.

So now it's some grand uniparty conspiracy?

C'mon man.

Nope, my stance has never changed in this thread- death is a part of life. The morality and legality of the why has always been about stabilizing society. I believe all living things have a form of consciousness and I equate that with a soul. I think we as humans do far crueler things than kill, but we have always killed as well.

It’s not really a conspiracy. It’s spelled out in various opinion. In this particular case (I can’t remember if it was the draft or the published one), Alito states in his opinion that such a wide interpretation of rights opens the door to respecting the contractual rights of sex workers, and Thomas states that the court should revisit other major substantive due process cases respecting rights to contraception.

And then the liberals don’t want to respect contractual rights between employers and workers because it would impede their ability to regulate the economy.

I think it's the most administrative and clerical.

It's just saying that while certain rights of the people were enumerated for the express purpose of putting into context the limitatiin of the governments power, it should not be assumed that those rights are exhaustive as enuemerared.

How is letting someone choose to have an abortion a control mechanism?

If you hate a certain group of people like a lot of posters here do, seems like to me that they would champion that group having abortions
